:: Monday Mantra :: Breakthrough in the Breakdown
A fundamental aspect of being human is that we all face obstacles. The way we choose to handle these setbacks molds our character. Occasionally our difficulties are minor and can be dealt with instantly. Other times we are forced to face painful and seemingly impossible barriers. During tough situations I always ask myself, "What am I meant to learn from this?" Deciding to find the lesson during hardship is mostly a choice. Life works in mysterious ways though, and sometimes it takes years to learn the lesson in the heartache. Humans tend to be pretty intuitive, however, and deep down we probably know the mental breakthrough we are supposed to come to terms with. Sitting with your loneliness can bring excruciating emotional pain, but sometimes this is just what the doctor ordered.
The most important thing to remember during these trying times is that although you may be lonely, you are not alone. A valuable lesson I've learned in my life is to know when to invite the sadness into your life. It can be uncomfortable, but that is where true growth begins. Did you ever get physical growing pains when you were younger? It is very similar, but as you age your soul is what is experiences the agony (and the growth) from the pain. Feeling sorrow is not a bad thing, pretending that it is not there is more harmful than accepting that you are hurt. Allow yourself to feel all things, the good and the bad. Just like the metamorphosis from a caterpillar to the butterfly, beauty is a result of discomfort. This week I encourage you to look deeper into any hardships in your life. I guarantee you will be able to find the breakthrough in the breakdown. Thanks for reading. Happy Chinese New Year! Sending love and light xx
